The Ohio State robotic surgery program celebrated its 30,000th surgery this year, a major milestone for the program. This multispecialty program is led by more than 70 surgeons, who teach more than 165 surgical residents and fellows per year. Robotic surgery adds many layers of complexity to the surgical procedure and requires advanced-level care coordination. The robotic surgery team, administrative staff, dedicated surgical and CSS teams, supply chain and many others support this complex clinical effort. Patients who have robotic surgery tend to experience less pain, a quicker recovery time and less time in the hospital.
