OSU roboticsThe Ohio State Robotic Surgery Program celebrated its 30,000th robotic surgery this year, a major milestone for the program. This multispecialty program has been led by more than 70 surgeons, training over 168 surgical residents and fellows per year. The introduction of the robotic surgical platform into the operating room environment adds many layers of complexity to the surgical procedure and requires advanced-level care coordination. This complex clinical effort is also supported by the robotic surgery team, administrative staff, dedicated surgical and CSS teams, supply chain and many more. By providing more robotic surgery options to our patients, we can potentially enable them to experience less pain, a quicker recovery time and less time in the hospital.
