An immersive research experience for Ohio State undergraduate students
The ASPIRE Program at the Ohio State University College of Medicine presents you with an exciting opportunity to participate in a 10-week immersive research experience in a laboratory at one of America's top academic medical centers. The program is open to sophomore and junior undergraduate students at The Ohio State University whose backgrounds have not afforded them the opportunity to engage in the health sciences. Participants are selected based on the criteria listed below under “Application Requirements,” and selection does not take into account race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender or sexual orientation.
We encourage applications from all interested students including:
- Students with disabilities, defined as those with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities
- Students from economically and/or educationally disadvantaged backgrounds
- First generation college students
- Students who have overcome economic or educational obstacles in obtaining higher education
- Students interested in pursuing a dual degree MD/PhD program
Application Requirements
- Must be interested in pursuing a graduate or professional degree in medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, health and rehabilitation sciences, optometry, public health, and/or veterinary medicine
- Undergraduate students should be in their sophomore or junior year at Ohio State (rising sophomores are encouraged to apply)
- Letter of recommendation from a professor
- Undergraduate transcripts
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
