Frequently asked questions
Students in the Medical Physics Graduate Educational Program require a strong foundation in basic physics. This can be demonstrated either by an undergraduate or graduate degree in Physics, or by a degree in an engineering discipline or another of the physical sciences and with coursework that is the equivalent of a minor in Physics (i.e., one that includes at least three upper-level undergraduate physics courses that would be required for a Physics major).
Students must have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 to be considered for the graduate program.

Strong applicants to both the master's and PhD programs will have demonstrated aptitude and experience in problem-solving and critical thinking in the sciences. Core values of the program include integrity, professionalism and curiosity.
The program is currently seeking CAMPEP accreditation for both MS and PhD programs for students to be qualified to participate in the ABR Part 1 examination and CAMPEP accredited residency programs.

The Ohio State Medical Physics Graduate Program is fully in-person for full-time students.
