Andrea I. Doseff, PhD is an associate professor with tenure in the Department of Molecular Genetics (75%) and the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology (25%) at The Ohio State University. Dr. Doseff received her bachelor’s degree from University of Sciences of Buenos Aires, Argentina and her PhD from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, New York working in cell cycle regulation. She completed her postdoctoral training in apoptosis at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. She joined The Ohio State University as an assistant professor in 2002. She leads a multidisciplinary research team recognized nationally and internationally in the area of cell death and health-related mechanisms of flavonoids. Her findings have been published in PNAS, Immunity, Genetics, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Biochemical Pharmacology and Journal of Immunology, among others. She serves as associate editor and ad-hoc reviewer for several journals. She has received funding continuously from National Institute of Health, National Science Foundation, USDA, the American Lung Association and the American Heart Association. She serves as grant reviewer chair for American Heart Association and as ad-hoc for NSF and NIH. She teaches and has developed courses for undergraduate and graduate students. She is the co-director of the Dual PhD Program OSU - University of São Paulo, Brazil and directs the SiGuE (Success in Graduate Education), post-baccalaureate program.
