Professional Interests

My primary focus is on developing antimicrobial stewardship programs in veterinary medicine and studying the pathogens that cause infectious diseases in animals, with particular emphasis on multidrug-resistant and zoonotic microorganisms and on advancing diagnostic stewardship. I have held various roles within the Veterinary Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (VAST) Subcommittee at the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI), where I currently serve as Chair.
As Director of Clinical Microbiology, I oversee the operations of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory at the Veterinary Medical Center and serve as its Infection Control Officer. I also co-lead the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and collaborate with colleagues at OSU and other institutions to improve antimicrobial use practices across veterinary medicine.
