Worthen-Chaudhari's lab applies a design-thinking approach to research and development of motor learning interventions, such as locomotor training and interactive neurotechnology. Their optimal goal is to extend the ceiling of recovery for individuals with neuromotor deficits. Toward this end, they apply biomechanical quantification techniques to investigate best practices for applying creative paradigms and emerging technologies – from arts, gaming or other disciplines traditionally categorized in the creative sector – to improve human recovery and health.

Research and Clinical interests

  • Creative engagement
  • Dance, arts and neuroscience
  • Interactive neurorehabilitation technologies
  • Biomechanics and motor control
  • Neurologic recovery (TBI, SCI, stroke)
  • Symptoms management (cancer,PD, MS)

Current Research Projects

  1. Novel Interventions for Mild Traumatic Brain Injury
  2. Embodied Effects of Rhythmic Music among Adults with Brain Injury
  3. Behavioral and cellular determinants of treadmill training and recovery after SCI
