About

Biography

I am an associate professor in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

The Kearse Laboratory uses a multidisciplinary approach to define novel mechanisms of how mRNA translation is regulated and affected in human biology and disease. We are researching three major areas of study: regulation of aberrant translation initiation at atypical start codons, translational control by RNA-binding proteins and ribosome-associated proteins, and human diseases linked to the translation machinery.
