About

Biography

I am an associate professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and my research focuses on quantitative health and behavioral science, biostatistics and data-driven approaches to clinical, population and public health research. I specialize in applied statistical methods, integrated data systems and infrastructure for multisite research.

My work includes designing and supporting the Ohio State Data Coordinating Center activities and multisite research programs. I integrate electronic health records, survey data, claims and patient-reported outcomes to support clinical and pragmatic trials, observational studies and policy-relevant research.

My research emphasizes rigorous question development, study design, measure development and analytic frameworks that translate complex clinical, behavioral and population data into evidence that informs patient care, health systems and policy. My methodological expertise includes longitudinal and multilevel modeling, clinical trial design and intervention-focused analyses, survey methods and psychometrics, as well as the integration of quantitative and qualitative data.

Through PCORnet and other national research networks, I contribute to the design and conduct of pragmatic trials and multisite studies. I am a member of the Center for Biostatistics and the Clinical and Translational Data Science Workgroup within The Ohio State University Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and I serve as an associate editor for the journal Public Health Reports.

Mentoring trainees and junior investigators and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration across clinical, behavioral and informatics research are also important parts of my work.
