Background
Lai Wei, PhD, MS, is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Division Lead of the Clinical Trials Division at the Center for Biostatistics (CFB). She is leading Clinical Trial Data Management and Integrity Core | Center for Biostatistics (osu.edu). She is also the lead biostatistician of the multi-institutional UM1 grant (The Ohio State University as the Lead Academic Organization for the Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Network (ETCTN)) through the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Dr. Wei joined the CFB in early 2008 after receiving her doctoral degree in statistics from OSU. With over 16 years of experience in collaborative research, she specializes in clinical trial designs, including adaptive design and data analysis. Additionally, she has extensive experience in laboratory experiments, observational studies, and retrospective studies. Dr. Wei collaborates extensively with researchers in the Comprehensive Cancer Center on the design of Phase I and Phase II trials. She has successfully maintained long-term collaborations as a biostatistical navigator with Thoracic Cancer group. She has designed 200+ oncology clinical trials, provided oversight and statistical support to 34 completed trials, including 12 multi-institutional studies, and authored 150+ publications. She serves as a biostatistical reviewer for the CSRC and is a committee member of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). She is the biostatistician for the NCI Ovarian Task Force of the Gynecologic Cancer Steering Committee. Her methods research has been focused on adaptive clinical trials design and sample size re-estimation for laboratory experiments.
