Background
Neena Thomas, MS, MDBA is currently an IT Multi-Discipline Manager 2 in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at The Ohio State University. She is also the Core leader for the Data Access, Analysis and Coordination (DAAC) Core in the Center for Biostatistics where she manages a group of Informaticians/Data Analysts and Project Managers. She is the Site Program Manager for the PCORnet/PCORI consortium at OSU, where she oversees the implementation of PCORnet at OSU. She also provides project oversight to the NIH funded Coordinating Center PE-CGS.
In her role as DAAC Manager, Ms. Thomas collaborates with investigators from Wexner Medical Center and external investigators in Project Management, Research Project Planning, Budget development & Database Management; Designing and developing workflows, processes and technical solutions for Research Projects; research involving Human subjects data from Electronic Health Records (EPIC/IHIS), & PCORI/PCORnet data mart; Research, Regulatory & Governance processes including IRB and Honest Broker protocols and in preparing grant proposals. As a Sr. Biomedical Informatics analyst and Honest Broker, she has worked extensively with clinical data and holds multiple certifications in EPIC.
Ms. Thomas earned her Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering, focused on Medical Imaging, from Wright State University (2005) and Master’s Diploma in Business Administration, focused on Finance Management, from Symbiosis University (2003). She joined the Department of Biomedical Informatics in 2017.
