The governor of Ohio appoints 15 voting trustees and two non-voting student trustees who serve for two years to The Ohio State University Board of Trustees. The current chosen students hail from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Patrick C. Arp is an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in biomedical science, and Annabelle “Annie” Feibel is a second-year medical student. They will provide valuable input and perspectives that will deepen the board members’ understanding of the student experience at the university, and they will participate in all board activities, including serving as members of committees and being able to vote while on these committees.

Patrick Arp’s outstanding leadership, academic excellence and commitment to public service have been recognized and rewarded. This includes:

  • His selection as a 2026 Truman Scholar, receiving funding for graduate studies, leadership training, career counseling and special internship and fellowship opportunities within the federal government.
  • His selection to the Ohio State University’s Stamps Eminence Scholarship Program, where he underwent training to lead transformational changes in his field.
  • His co-founding and leading of two student organizations: Grant Central, which works to equip students with grant writing skills and pairs them with area nonprofits in need of this expertise; and Memory Mates, which offers weekly opportunities for people living with dementia to engage in social activities and light movement while providing respite time for caregivers.
  • His research in the field of health economics, specifically in public policy related to aging and long-term care, as he currently holds a research assistantship at the University of Pennsylvania’s Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics.

In her second year of medical school, Annabelle “Annie” Feibel also serves as a research assistant in the departments of Dermatology and Orthopaedics at the Ohio State College of Medicine. Her varied experience includes:

  • Serving as an undergraduate research assistant in both the Duke University Center for Autism and Brain Development and the Duke Cancer Institute, where she advanced scholarship on autism and ADHD and on pain among cancer survivors who received pelvic radiation.
  • Helping shape key insights for national health-related organizations as a consultant, where in 2025, she earned one firm’s Rise Above Award for going above and beyond in demonstrating the company’s core values.
  • Serving as treasurer of the Ohio State College of Medicine’s student chapter of the Association of Women Surgeons, and serving as a volunteer for Clinica Latina, a free, full-service health clinic in Columbus’ University District serving Spanish-speaking individuals.

Congratulations to both Arp and Feibel, as they embark on new opportunities and professional growth that will lead to learning and helping our community.
