Xiaoli Zhang, PhD, is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Departments of Biomedical Informatics and Center for Biostatistics. Her research focuses on biomarker discoveries/selections and predictive modeling using statistical and bioinformatics method based on genetics, epigenetics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics data. Besides her research, Dr. Zhang has over 13 years of extensive experience in collaborative research.  She is actively involved in the collaborative work on a broad range of biomedical research areas, mainly in the field of cancer research, microbial infection and immunity.  

Prior to her faculty position, Dr. Zhang was a Research Scientist in the Center for Biostatistics from 2006 to 2018. She earned her PhD in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology (minor in genetics) and a MS in Statistics from Iowa State University in 2006.
