Welcome to the Cosmetic Dermatology Fellowship
The aim of The Ohio State University Cosmetic Dermatologic Fellowship is to train cosmetic surgeons who, upon completion of their fellowship, will be able to practice independently with the skills and methods learned during their training.
The plan for teaching the fellows involves a comprehensive approach that includes didactic instruction, hands-on experience and potential exposure to clinical research. Fellows will perform a significant number of cases – more than 1,600 – under the direct supervision of the fellowship director or surgical faculty.
Program overview
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center offers a one-year-long Cosmetic Dermatologic Fellowship. It is approved by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS). This fellowship will train board-certified/eligible dermatologists in the most common, and also in advanced, cosmetic dermatologic procedures.
Fellows will receive advanced, hands-on training in procedures such as injectables, lasers, sclerotherapy, rhinophyma, blepharoplasty, lipocoagulation, chemical peels and other surgical techniques, while also developing strong clinical judgment, patient consultation skills, and a deep understanding of underlying anatomy and potential complications.
This fellowship program will emphasize both in-depth procedural knowledge and strong patient consultation, complication management and ethical practice skills, ultimately creating experts in improving patients' appearance through a range of cosmetic treatments.
