Dermatology Residency Program
The Department of Dermatology has a categorical residency program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Two residents are taken into the program every year. In the first year, the residents complete a specially designed preliminary year in internal medicine. Afterwards, each resident spends three years learning dermatology through both extensive clinical experience and comprehensive didactic sessions.
Dermatology Fellowships
The Department of Dermatology has 3 fellowships: the Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship, the Clinical Research Fellowship and the Complex Dermatology Fellowship.
Medical Student Rotators
The department accepts four medical students per month to rotate in dermatology. One of these students can be a student from outside of Ohio State. Students wishing to specialize in dermatology are given preference for months July through December. Continuing medical education opportunities
Dermatology grand rounds
Ohio State's Department of Dermatology holds grand rounds on the third Wednesday of every month. The meeting is approved for two hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and consists of patient viewing followed by a discussion of the cases and a review of the biopsy specimens. The meeting is open to physicians, physician assistants, medical students, nurses and allied health students. Professional attire is required for the patient viewing. Central Ohio Dermatology Society
The Central Ohio Dermatology Society meets several times a year, either in conjunction with Ohio State's grand rounds or independently for dinner meetings. Individuals interested in membership can contact Dr. Gwyn Londeree at 614-442-1012.
