Today, 16.5% of the U.S. population is over age 65. By 2030, this demographic will represent 20% of our population. With this growth comes the need to provide exceptional care to meet older adults' social and health service needs. That is why we have created The Ohio State University Series in Applied Gerontology Education (S.A.G.E.) Program.
Through the Office of Geriatrics and Gerontology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, these courses are available as a distance education program, flexible to accommodate busy professional and personal lives. We offer a series of aging courses that allow participants to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes to optimize the care provided to older adults and promote quality of life. Upon successfully completing the three online distance learning courses, the participant will receive a graduate-level competency in the field of aging and a Certificate of Completion in Gerontology.
