Evidence-based therapy from a professional, caring staff
STAR TRC uses a variety of evidence-based therapies that have been shown to help survivors. We personalize your treatment according to your unique trauma experience.
Our staff includes physicians, licensed social workers, clinical counselors, case managers, psychiatrists, nurses and other professionals who coordinate internal and community resources to help you navigate your recovery.
No two traumatic events are exactly alike. STAR TRC staff work with each survivor to tailor treatment and support to match individualized needs. We work with each survivor to help them learn how to recognize and cope with symptoms, and to navigate the healing process.
The STAR Trauma Recovery Center, one of the first of its kind in the Midwest, is federally-funded through a Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant administered by the Ohio Attorney General’s office.

Share your story and affirm your life
Some survivors find that sharing about their recovery can be a powerful step in their healing process as well as an impactful way to give back to the community by sharing courage and hope with others. We are currently forming a Survivor Speakers Bureau for individuals interested in advocacy and public speaking about their healing journey. Participants will receive training and support to practice story-building and public speaking skills. If you’re interested in participating, please call (614) 293- 7827 (STAR) or email STARTraumaRecoveryCenter@osumc.edu, and mention the Speakers Bureau.
