About Ohio State’s Division of Trauma, Critical Care and Burn
The Division of Trauma, Critical Care and Burn concentrates efforts in clinical care, research and education for patients with acute care problems. The division delivers high-quality care to patients suffering from surgical critical illness, trauma and burns.
The Division of Trauma, Critical Care and Burn was formed in March, 2006 with the charge of enhancing the Department of Surgery’s programs in surgical critical care, trauma, burns and emergency general surgery and developing an acute care surgery program.

Welcome from the division director
Welcome to Ohio State's Division of Trauma, Critical Care and Burn. We are committed to providing exceptional surgical care to critically ill and injured patients while fostering an environment that is trauma-informed, compassionate and culturally sensitive. Each year our division treats over 2,700 trauma patients, performs over 2,300 procedures, and cares for over 700 patients in the intensive care unit.
