• GI Surgical Research A fund to support the gastrointestinal (GI) research efforts in Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery.

• Covidien Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery Supports the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery for clinical trials, education/training and research. Includes, but not limited to: salary, equipment, conference costs and other expenses.
• Bariatric Education, Training and Research Fund Supports education, training and research including but not limited to equipment, salary, conference fees and travel as authorized by the director of bariatrics programs.
• Covidien Training and Education Fund For Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery training (CME or non-CME) or for postdoctoral, residency, practicing physicians, nursing or allied health professionals, as approved by director.
• Robotics Education and Training Fund Supports education and training of medical and allied health professionals on use of robotics in surgery.

• The Edwin H. and E. Christopher Ellison Endowment Fund

  The Edwin H. and E. Christopher Ellison Endowment Fund was established to honor the accomplishments of the late Dr. Edwin H. Ellison and of his son, Dr. E. Christopher Ellison, for the significant impact that both have made on the field of general surgery at The Ohio State University.
  
  Dr. Edwin Ellison (1918-1970) completed his undergraduate, graduate and medical degrees at Ohio State. After serving in the Army Medical Corps, he returned to Ohio State in 1949. Working with chairman Dr. Robert M. Zollinger, he co-identified the Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome in 1955. In 1957 he was promoted to professor of surgery and was named "Man of the Year" by medical students for his superb teaching. Dr. Ellison authored more than 130 scientific publications, and later became chair of the Division of Surgery at Marquette University.
  
  Dr. E. Christopher Ellison joined the Department of Surgery in 1984 following the completion of his general surgery residency at Ohio State. For nearly three decades he has shared his knowledge, experience and insight with colleagues and students, and has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and co-authored two books, the ninth edition of Zollinger's Atlas of Surgical Operations and The Coming Shortage of Surgeons. Dr. Ellison was appointed chairman of the Department of Surgery in 2000 and also serves as vice dean for Clinical Affairs and CEO of the Faculty Group Practice. He was named a College of Medicine Distinguished Professor and holds the Robert M. Zollinger Chair in Surgery.
