Research interests
I am a tenure-track assistant professor in The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and a formally trained implementation scientist. My research is driven by one central goal: to accelerate the use of evidence-based interventions in real-world treatment settings to improve the quality and effectiveness of health care at scale.
I am currently the principal investigator of grants funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (#K01DA060881) and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (#R34NS139967) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). I have served as the implementation science lead and co-investigator or consultant on grants funded by the Department of Defense (War), Organon Pharmaceuticals, the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research, and the NIH.
My research focuses on developing and testing implementation strategies and their mechanisms to accelerate the adoption, implementation and sustainability of evidence-based interventions across health and community-based service systems.
I am dedicated to advancing care for vulnerable populations with multiple, complex health conditions, with a focus on traumatic brain injury. I have provided implementation science expertise in areas spanning contraception care, substance use disorder treatment, mental health care, cardiovascular care, diabetes management, chronic pain and spinal cord injury.
