Background
Jing Zhao, PhD, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Zhao’s work spans statistical methodology and applied analytics for translational medicine, with a focus on biomarker discovery and validation, evidence synthesis for clinical decision-making, and biomarker-guided trial design. In academia, Dr. Zhao leads collaborative studies across oncology and other therapeutic areas and mentors teams on study design, reproducible analysis, and AI/ML integration. In the biopharmaceutical sector, Dr. Zhao served as a precision-medicine biostatistician, directing cross-functional efforts in biomarker validation, protocol and Statistical Analysis Plan (SAP) development, companion-diagnostic strategy, and regulatory-grade analyses. Across both settings, Dr. Zhao builds pragmatic analytics that integrate biomarker assays, clinical data, and real-world evidence, to improve study reliability and accelerating the translation of laboratory insights to patient care.
