Casey Henceroth, EdD, MBA, receives Ohio State Distinguished Staff Award

Since 2007, Casey Henceroth, EdD, MBA, has served at The Ohio State University with distinction, exemplifying exceptional leadership, innovation and service. She began as an academic advisor and adjunct instructor in The Ohio State University College of Education and Human Ecology, where she worked with thousands of students before advancing into senior leadership roles. In 2022, she became the inaugural director for Physician Scientist Education & Training (PSET) in The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where she built collaborative infrastructure that supports nearly 200 trainees – undergraduates, medical students, resident physicians, fellows and early-career faculty – across the physician-scientist training pipeline each year. She was recently selected for The Ohio State University 2026 Distinguished Staff Awards.

Her extensive leadership experience and strong academic and project management skills inform her approach to build collaboration with a variety of stakeholders by:

• Prioritizing operational efficiency and designing an integrated, scalable pipeline that supports trainees at every stage.
• Directly and indirectly supporting accomplished trainees at pivotal moments in their careers, helping them navigate the challenges of becoming a physician-scientist, and by building programs, partnerships and systems that support their development. 
• Focusing on the college’s tripartite mission of transforming the health of all communities through innovative education, discovery and care, by supporting the future of biomedical innovation and better patient outcomes.
