The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery proudly welcomes Rekha Raveendran, MD, as the new division director of Allergy and Immunology. A board-certified allergist and immunologist, Dr. Raveendran brings over a decade of experience in managing allergic conditions and immune disorders, with a strong focus on personalized care and education.
Dr. Raveendran focuses on allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps and food allergies, with a strong interest in immunotherapy as a key treatment. Under her leadership, the division will continue to offer all three major immunotherapy options – subcutaneous (SCIT), sublingual (SLIT) and intralymphatic (ILIT), making The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center the only center in Columbus to provide this full spectrum of care. Her vision emphasizes tailoring therapy to each patient’s lifestyle and goals, ensuring access to innovative protocols that improve outcomes and quality of life.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Raveendran is deeply committed to advancing education and research. She has helped develop curriculum for allergy fellows, and she continues to lecture on coding, billing and best practices in immunotherapy. Her leadership will strengthen collaboration across subspecialties and expand opportunities for innovation in allergy care.
