The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation has developed a pending ACGME accredited 1-year Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship. We anticipate beginning to accept applications in September 2026 for candidates planning to start their fellowship in July 2027. Interested applicants must have completed or be in the process of completing residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, child neurology, or sports medicine ACGME accredited residency and/or fellowship programs.
Fellowship curriculum
The scope of the fellowship includes exposure to patients with multiple forms of acquired brain injury across the spectrum of severity. Rotation You’ will rotate at sites, includinge the The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital with experiences in outpatient concussion clinics, procedural spasticity clinics, acute care trauma consults, as well as pediatric and adult inpatient brain injury rehabilitation service with a disorders of consciousness (DoC) program.
You’ll have protected time for research or other scholarly activities. The Ohio Regional TBI Model System (currently the longest funded TBI Model System site) is also located in our Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Ohio State.
In addition to the clinical experiences and research opportunities above, you’ll be exposed to an abundance of educational opportunities with grand rounds, monthly journal clubs, and graduate medical education didactics.
