SUICIDE-AND-TRAUMA-REDUCTION-INITIATIVE-2022-logo2

STRIVE’s nationally recognized R&R program provides cognitive processing therapy with Stellate Ganglion Block for current service members, & veterans, experiencing symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to exposure to military and nonmilitary related traumatic events in a two-week intensive program.

The purpose of this study is to improve treatment outcomes among veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We hope that the results obtained from this study will help us to reduce symptoms more quickly among veterans with PTSD.

  • The study will involve participation in 10 therapy sessions online.
  • You will be asked to attend one hour of therapy every day for two weeks in a row.
  • You will need to have a private location with stable internet connection to meet with a research therapist every day.
  • You will be asked to participate in a stellate ganglion block (SGB), a procedure in which an anesthetic (pain medicine) is injected in the side of your neck around the nerve that controls the “fight or flight” response.
  • You will be asked to complete 12 online surveys over the course of one year. Surveys will ask you about physical symptoms, behaviors, and emotions.
  • You will be asked to complete several online tests that measure your reaction time, problem solving, and decision-making.
  • Eligible individuals who complete the study could receive up to $275 in compensation.
  • To see if you might be eligible for this study, click R&R SGB button at the top of page or scan the QR code to answer a series of questions. These pre-screening questions will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
