How you can help
The Department of Surgery’s mission is to deliver high quality patient care, to contribute to innovations in medicine through basic research, translational research and clinical outcome studies, and to educate medical students and postgraduate trainees to insure an adequate supply of surgeons for the future.

Giving Opportunities

Thoracic Surgery Support Fund Provides general support mission of patient care, medical education/training and research for Division of Thoracic Surgery as allocated and approved by the director of the division.

Thoracic Surgery Oncology Fund Supports cancer research and clinical care in the Thoracic Surgery Oncology program at The James for work of Dr. Robert Merritt (or successor).

Thoracic Oncology Research Fund For the research of thoracic oncology under the direction of Gregory Otterson, MD, or his replacement within the Division of Hematology Oncology.
