10 College of Medicine residency programs recognized among top 20 programs nationwide
Each year, Doximity, the largest networking community for healthcare professionals in the United States, conducts a national poll of board-certified physicians to assess the quality of accredited medical residency programs. This year, six residency programs at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center are listed among the top 10 programs, and four additional programs have been recognized among the top 20 programs nationwide, based on physician reputation.
The top 20 programs, when sorted by reputation, include:
- Otolaryngology (No. 4)
- General Surgery (No. 5)
- Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, in partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital (No. 6)
- Pediatrics, a Nationwide Children’s Hospital program in the Ohio State College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics (No. 7)
- Child Neurology, a Nationwide Children’s Hospital program in the Ohio State College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics (No. 9)
- Medical Genetics, in partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital (No. 10)
- Plastic Surgery (No. 13)
- Obstetrics and Gynecology (No. 15)
- Neurology, (No. 18)
- Neurological Surgery, a new program to make the list (No. 20)
Amy M. Moore, MD, interim dean of the Ohio State College of Medicine, explains that Doximity’s Residency Navigator poll enables learners to evaluate thousands of U.S. medical residency programs across 28 specialties and compare peer nominations, ratings and handwritten reviews.
