The Microsurgery Fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center offers a comprehensive and high-volume experience in microsurgical reconstruction. The program is one-year in duration and participates in the Microsurgery Match.
Fellows will rotate through multiple central Ohio institutions including The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James), The Ohio State East Hospital and Nationwide Children's Hospital. At Ohio State, fellows work with our world-renowned microsurgeons to learn skills and expertise this in highly specialized field.
Fellows are exposed to a broad spectrum of microsurgery, including those related to trauma, cancer and those of pediatric or congenital nature. Fellows will gain experience in specialized procedures such as multi-flap breast reconstruction, lymphedema, mesenteric lymph node transfer, targeted muscle reinnervation, supercharged jejunal transfer, nerve transfer and advanced orthoplastic reconstruction. Opportunities to participate in multidisciplinary programs such as military medicine, orthoplastic surgery and neuroplastic surgery are available during the fellowship.
Our microsurgery fellowship program offers junior attendingship allowing fellows to have independent clinics and to also perform non-microsurgical reconstruction and general plastic surgery procedures. Fellows gain valuable experience as a junior faculty member broadening their skillset and working closely with many experts across the field.
