Trainees have a variety of opportunities to present their work and hone their skills while at Ohio State. This provides them with valuable experience for future presentations at the national and international level.
DOS Annual Research Conference
The conference brings together students, residents, fellows, faculty and guests to share and discuss results of research relevant to surgery. It’s also an opportunity for all students training with faculty in the Ohio State Department of Surgery to develop their scientific communication and critical thinking skills.
Each year, the department hosts the Zollinger Visiting Professor, a prominent leader in surgery, to spend a day and a half meeting with residents and faculty and serving on a panel of judges for the research. Presenters later receive written feedback about their presentations including suggestions to enhance the content, delivery or visual presentation of their work.
