The graduate certificate in Biomedical Informatics provides enrollees with training in basic biomedical informatics competencies. Upon completion, students will have an increased knowledge and understanding of biomedical informatics theories and principles. Skills learned will prepare learners to interact with informatics technologies, leading to novel innovations in biomedical and clinical research and healthcare.
Who should apply for the Graduate Certificate in Biomedical Informatics?
The program is designed for post-baccalaureate individuals with a strong science, analytics or health background as well as post-graduate individuals who are established in their careers. It is targeted to those looking for concentrated training in biomedical informatics without a degree program. All courses are 100% online in an asynchronous format, respectful of busy schedules.
Curriculum
The program has five courses (15 credit hours) including core coursework (3 courses; 9 credit hours) followed by specialization coursework in a focus area of the student's choice (2 courses; 6 credit hours). Students will take one to two online courses each semester, in-person courses cannot be substituted. Most enrollees complete the program in 12 months.
