Preparing tomorrow's physicians
Developing the next generation of family physicians is a crucial mission for the Department of Family and Community Medicine and Ohio State has a strong tradition of family medicine education. Medical students at The Ohio State University are exposed to family medicine and primary care in a variety of ways starting in their first year of medical school and continuing throughout all four years. Our family medicine faculty are eager to engage with medical students at all levels of training. Family medicine faculty participate and teach in a variety of ways throughout the Lead.Serve.Inspire. curriculum including longitudinal group, portfolio coaching, longitudinal practice, Part 2 small group leader, teaching advanced competencies, career exploration week activities, advanced management of chronic care preceptor, and leading the family medicine interest group.
