Global Health Scholars Program

Available to GME Residents and Fellows PGY-2 and above, the Global Health Scholars Program is a two-to-three-year asynchronous curriculum designed to supplement immersive learning during international rotations that will allow residents and fellows to develop a moderate level of proficiency in the following global health core competencies:

  • Globalization and health systems
  • Social and environmental determinants of health
  • Global health professionalism
  • Global burden of disease
  • Ethics and vulnerable groups
  • Global health interventions and capacity strengthening

The competencies are modeled after the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) core competencies and learning objectives. They have been aligned with ACGME core competencies.
