The Host Defense Laboratory uses basic, translational and clinical research to understand immune responses that combat pathogens and tumors and develop immunotherapeutics and vaccines.
Our objectives
Our lab aims to develop a nanoparticle-based vaccine platform to boost antigen-specific immunity against tumors and intracellular pathogens. We also explore sex steroid-mediated effects on epithelial cell proliferation and differentiation to enhance epithelial barrier protection
