Opportunity for Medical Students
The summer scholars program is an eight week clinical program that integrates Ohio State College of Medicine students into the various fields of cardiothoracic surgery. Students attend following their first year of medical school and will do rotations in cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery and congenital cardiothoracic surgery. They will participate on rounds, scrub in on cases and attend conferences. Students will have the opportunity to present a case that they were involved with over the summer. There have even been students who have published their case presentation. Students will have the opportunity to apply for a $2,500 stipend scholarship for the summer. To participate in this program you should apply for funding through the AATS or the AHA.Please contact CTSIG@osumc.edu with further questions. We will send out information annually to group members.
