About Us

An incredible amount has been accomplished within the Office of Global Health in regards to student education. Each year we strive to create new opportunities for students to provide medical care in underserved populations around the world. Our goal is to meet the needs of the students pertaining to global health education. Our collaboration with The Ohio State University College of Medicine has been strong and we look forward to the continued support as we steadily grow the medical student initiatives. We continue to have established and solid relationships with select organizations such as Free the Children and the Me to We program, particularly with the help of Drs. Rob & Anne Klamar.

As we set goals for 2015-2016, we have plans in place for exploratory and educational trips to Rwanda, Malawi, and Tanzania.  It is imperative that we offer students outstanding educational experiences in a safe environment. Over the next two years, the Office of Global Health will be traveling to underserved countries around the world to meet with the Ministry of Health, educator faculty, local in-country support teams, and hospital officials to ensure secure sites that are safe for our students. By 2017, every medical student will choose from a list of approved sites to complete a global health elective. Our goal is to have an extensive list of personally vetted locations for our students by 2017, taking the guess work out of selecting an ideal global health experience.
