Rachel Rosenzweig, BS, is the DHLRI flow core manager. She previously worked in a DHLRI lab with a focus in flow cytometry assays. In this role she managed the flow cytometer as a shared resource and gained experience in instrument training and maintenance, as well as experimental design and analysis.

The Cytek Northern Lights flow cytometer is equipped with 3 lasers (405nm, 488nm, 640nm) and 38 fluorescence detection channels. These channels capture emission spectra within 420-829 nm, and individual fluorophore spectra can be discerned from the total collected signal using spectral unmixing.

The Cytek Aurora cell sorter is capable of sorting into collection tubes of multiple sizes (1.5mL, 5mL, and 15mL), as well as into 96-well plates. The instrument can sort up to 6 populations in 1.5mL tubes, 4 populations in 5mL tubes, and 2 populations in 15mL tubes. Multiple nozzle sizes are compatible with the instrument (70um and 100um), allowing for nozzle selection based on cell size and fragility. The cell sorter utilizes the same spectral unmixing technology as the flow cytometer, allowing users to sort cells based on unmixed data as well as raw data.

The NanoFCM is an ultra-sensitive, high resolution flow cytometer for detection of nanoparticles with or without fluorescent staining. It is equipped with one side scatter laser and two fluorescence detection lasers (PE and FITC), and can detect particles ranging from 7-1000nm.

Basic data analysis services are available upon request. However, researchers are encouraged to seek additional expertise for critical data or data intended for publication.
