About the Program
The Geriatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship is an SAEM-approved Emergency Medicine fellowship for EM residency trained physicians. The fellowship integrates training with OSU’s Geriatric Medicine Fellowship with an acute care focus and Emergency Medicine clinical work. The fellowship director is Dr. Lauren Southerland, Department of Emergency Medicine faculty with Geriatric Fellowship training from William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak MI. Fellows can choose between a 1 or 2 year fellowship with a focus on clinical geriatrics, administration, or research. Application Process
All applications must be received by September 15 for consideration.
The fellowship is for physicians who have completed emergency medicine residency training and are able to practice Emergency Medicine in the United States. An Ohio medical license will be required before starting the fellowship.
Note: We will be accepting applications for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.
