Community outreach volunteering opportunities

On behalf of the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Department of Family and Community Medicine is seeking healthcare professionals to volunteer at an upcoming Community Health and Wellness Day.
Volunteers will assist with biometric screenings and provide brief health education to community members. Your time and expertise will play a vital role in helping attendees access essential health and wellness resources.
We sincerely hope you will consider lending your skills to support this important community effort.

Volunteers are needed to support the Somali Health and Wellness Fair, a community focused event dedicated to promoting health education and access to preventive care. Services provided at the event will include mammograms, biometric screenings, and PSA testing for men, along with cancer education materials, general wellness resources, and participation from various community agencies.
Volunteer attire:
- In clinical settings, volunteers are encouraged to wear medical attire when possible. If you do not have medical attire, please do not purchase it; comfortable, loose fitting clothing is acceptable.
Additional information:
- Volunteer letters can be provided upon request for school requirements, employment documentation, or clinical ladder advancement.

Please join us for the OSUWMC Immunizations and Physical Exam Clinic. The OSU Wexner Medical Center Department of Family and Community Medicine is proud to support Columbus State students by providing immunizations and physical exams, services that are often barriers to entering health sciences programs due to lack of insurance or high associated costs.
By bringing care directly to campus, we are helping more students pursue careers in healthcare without financial or systemic obstacles standing in the way.
Services offered:
- Various immunizations and physical examinations.
Volunteer requirements:
- Sign up for available time slots in 3 hour increments:
- 8:00–11:00 AM and/or
- 11:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Please wear medical attire or loose fitting clothing.
- Required credentials include BLS certification and one of the following roles: MA, PCA, LPN, RN, APP, Medical Student, Nursing Student, or MD.

Please join the OSU Wexner Medical Center Healthy Community Center and The James Cancer Comprehensive Center for Protecting Prostate Health: What You Need to Know, an engaging and informative community workshop focused on prostate health awareness and prevention.
This event is designed to be interactive, hands on, and educational, featuring expert insights, real time demonstrations, and wellness focused activities to help men better understand their risk and take an active role in their prostate health. Although the event will be held in a church facility, the program is entirely community centered and non-religious.

- PSA screenings
- Prostate health education
- Direct conversations with healthcare providers
