The Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) is pleased to offer The NCH & MSTP Pediatric Physician Scientist Scholar Travel Award, which will be an annual award. Student eligibility for the award includes status as a dual degree MD/PhD student enrolled in the Medical Scientist Training Program who has identified a potential interest in Pediatrics or Pediatric subspecialties (including Pediatric Surgery and surgical subspecialties). One student entering their third year of medical school, and one student entering their fourth year of medical school, will be selected each year. Students selected for their Med 3 year will be eligible to recompete for their Med 4 year. This award will provide travel (covering up to $2,000) to attend a scientific meeting during Med 3 or Med 4.

  • Statement of Interest: This statement of interest should clearly outline how the applicant plans to combine their research and clinical interests into a career as a productive physician scientist in Pediatrics.
  • Current Curriculum Vitae
  • Letter of support from their PhD advisor
