Applications are now being accepted for a one to two year Complex Fellowship. This fellowship is accredited by the committee on Accreditation of Subspecialty Training of the Society of Neurological Surgeons.
The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center is the only academic medical center in central Ohio serving a population of over 2.5 million. It is one of the nation’s top health care providers in spinal surgery offering a seamless array of treatments for spinal disorders.
The scope of the fellowship entails exposure to a large volume of tumors at the James Cancer Hospital, as well as fractures, infections, deformities, and degenerative spine management. The Fellow will gain experience in complex spine surgery through operative and non-operative patient care, research at the OSU Biodynamics Labs, and the OSU Center for Spinal Cord Injury, as well as regularly scheduled spine and tumor board conferences. Spine and Spine Tumor Symposiums are held yearly at OSU. The multidisciplinary management of benign and malignant spine and spinal cord tumors including utilizing stereotactic spinal radiosurgery through the NCI/CCC James Cancer Center provides the opportunity to gain experience in this unique specialty only available in a few centers in the U.S.
