Our Mission

Psychiatry-residents-at-the-JamesOur program's mission is to provide residents with an enthusiastic foundation for lifelong professional growth in the field of psychiatry including the capacity to serve others through clinical practice in diverse settings, preparation for sub-specialty training, and entry into academic, community, research, and leadership pathways. We value the physical and emotional health and well-being of our residents, faculty, interdisciplinary teams and community. We thrive through our commitment to belonging to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture in which our residents, staff, and faculty are respected, valued, and celebrated. We aim to better our world through collaboration, perspective, and evolution of our understanding of one another, the communities in which we live and practice, and our roles in improving the collective and individual human experience.
