Travel and vacation benefits
The Department of Radiology provides three weeks of vacation. We advise fellows to plan as far in advance as possible. Fellows are allowed five days of meeting attendance time per year, and more can be given if a trainee is delivering an oral presentation or electronic exhibit. Funding is available to trainees to help with meeting and other educational expenses during their program.Parental leave
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center provides up to six weeks of paid parental leave. Fellows should be aware that the amount of leave taken may affect their ability to meet the requirements of the applicable certifying board. Because the length of parental leave may impact the amount of time allowed away from a training program by a certifying board, the Program Director may utilize vacation time, sick leave, personal days or conference leave to accomplish completion of the training requirements within the standard training period.Sick Leave
Our policy is in compliance with the institutional policy for sick leave. Radiology residents are considered full-time and accrue paid sick leave at a rate of 10 hours per month for a total of 120 hours per year. For more information on benefits at The Ohio State University, visit www.hr.osu.edu/benefits
