What is the Department of Surgery Alumni Society?

The Ohio State University Department of Surgery Alumni Society aims to connect graduates and faculty from current and past eras of Ohio State Surgery to foster community and connection with the department, our trainees and our esteemed alumni.

The society traces its roots to the first Ohio State surgical society established by Edwin H. Ellison, MD, and Robert Zollinger, MD, in 1955. Over the last several decades, with education and outreach in mind, this society has fostered alumni engagement, education initiatives and wellness interventions that have had a meaningful impact on Ohio State Surgery and established a legacy of ongoing education, growth and giving back.

As we move forward, the Alumni Society strives to support provide community to facilitate alumni engagement, support education programs, and foster clinician wellness.
