Educator Development Program: Teaching and Leadership Series

The Teaching and Leadership series is a 5-session cohort program developed through a collaboration between FAME and the Office of Curriculum and Scholarship (OCS). It is designed to develop the teaching and educational leadership skills of faculty in the health sciences. Participants will accrue skills to facilitate the knowledge acquisition of learners; design curricula and educational programs; run courses, clerkship or training programs. Participants will identify educational tools to evaluate and assess programs. 

All participants can expe​ct to:

Develop a teaching philosophy

Implement appropriate, effective, and differentiated pedagogical approaches across common venues and settings

Establish appropriate learning climate through modeling professionalism and understanding the hidden curriculum

Apply basic design principles, principles of clinical teaching and learning and research-based best practices to an individually designed curriculum

Provide peers and learners with clear, effective, and constructive feedback while attending to learners’ needs

Incorporate technology into planned learning experiences

Critically evaluate instructional models and assessments

Share educational products publicly

Begin development of an Educator Portfolio


Eligibility: All faculty in the College of Medicine

Target Audience: Aspiring educational faculty leaders in the College of Medicine
