Paul Weber

Dr. Paul A. Weber’s legacy is honored through three funds within the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences: two endowed funds, which are fully funded, and the Paul A. Weber Innovation and Research Fund, a current-use fund supporting immediate priorities in research and innovation.

We encourage donors to direct their support to the Paul A. Weber Innovation and Research Fund, which advances groundbreaking research and innovative approaches to prevent and treat blindness and eye disease, including glaucoma and macular degeneration. Gifts to this fund provide flexible, immediate resources to accelerate discovery and improve patient care.

About Paul A. Weber

Dr. Weber devoted his career to patient care, education, and leadership at The Ohio State University. After completing his ophthalmology residency at Ohio State, he remained with the department and went on to serve as Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology from 1988–2004 and Vice Dean for Education in the College of Medicine from 2004–2007.

A dedicated educator and mentor, Dr. Weber received numerous teaching honors, including Professor of the Year, the Excellence in Teaching Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
