Donor Legacy Wall
Every year the Donor Legacy Wall is updated to honor those who generously gave in the past year and donors who permanently make an impact for our department. It is located in the 5th Floor Lobby at the Ohio State Eye and Ear Institute at Olentangy River Road. Donor names are listed annually in the year following a donation. Members of the Havener Society are given a named plaque which remains permanently.
The Havener Society
Membership of the Havener Society is a prestigious honor reserved for the most impactful donors to the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. As a member you will have a permanent name plaque on the Donor Legacy Wall and may be invited to exclusive events.
The Havener society is named after William Havener, MD, the first full-time ophthalmologist at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and was chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology from 1959-1961 and 1972-1988. For four decades, he had a single mission: ophthalmology. A distinguished teacher and internationally known author, Dr. Havener was an innovator and skillful surgeon, a thoughtful citizen and, most of all, a caring physician.
