Our Fellowships
Ohio State Ophthalmology faculty believe that fellowship training should be taken after residency out of a desire for subspecialty practice, academic pursuits or research, rather than to supplement areas missed during a residency program. In order to be eligible for any of our fellowship programs, all applicants must be US citizens, graduates of an ACGME-accredited residency program and must be eligible to obtain a full medical license in the State of Ohio. The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences offers four different ophthalmology fellowship programs. These programs all offer numerous clinical, surgical, research and teaching opportunities.

All Department of Ophthalmology fellowship programs participate in the San Francisco Match and we will only receive applications through the match. Please refer to the San Francisco Match website for details on how to register and apply through the match. Please note that there are no supplemental materials required in order to apply to one of our fellowship programs. All applicants will be notified via email of their status.
In order to be considered for any fellowship, all applicants must be a U.S. citizen and must be able to obtain a FULL and unrestricted medical license in the State of Ohio prior to starting a fellowship. View and review all licensure requirements before applying.

- Cornea: Friday, September 29, 2023 or Saturday, September 30, 2023 (virtual)
- Retina: Thursday, October 5, 2023 (in person)
- Glaucoma: Friday, October 13, 2023 (in person)
