About the ARVO Annual Meeting
The Annual Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) meeting is considered to be the largest gathering of eye and vision researchers in the world with over 11,000 attendees from 75 countries. Each year, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences sends multiple researchers and physicians to this event to present their newest research innovations.
Alumni Support ARVO Grand Rounds
Over the years, Fred Kapetansky, MD and Marilyn Huheey, MD have been a conduit for relaying the latest medical advances presented at the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology
(ARVO) Annual Meeting. Together, they coordinate a yearly Grand Rounds where the latest information is relayed to physicians, medical students and faculty members.
ARVO Annual Meetings
Imagining innovation and intelligence in vision science
The theme of the 2025 Annual Meeting addresses how vision research is continually being transformed by new information and technologies. Exponentially expanding computing power is giving rise to improved artificial intelligence and powerful big data. Increasingly sensitive and elegant molecular techniques, including CRISPR and mRNA technologies, as well as more sophisticated imaging modalities, virtual reality, and breakthroughs in gene therapy are catalyzing our research as we aim to treat, cure and ultimately prevent blinding eye diseases.
Join our community May 4 - 8, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, for a showcase of new research and the opportunity to network with colleagues and industry thought-leaders.
The 2024 ARVO Annual Meeting will meet in Seattle May 4-9, 2024 where international basic and clinical researchers share the latest breakthroughs in vision research.
