Ensures compliance with all national and institutional regulations and guidelines as well as partner with program leadership to develop and implement strategic plans to advance specific program goals and objectives.

Part 2 Lead.Serve.Inspire. (LSI) Curriculum - Understanding Patients with Reproductive and Surgical Needs (UPRSN).
Responsible for administration, curriculum development and implementation for the Surgery Clerkships for 200 medical students each year at OSU and 3 community hospitals in the Columbus area. Oversees student, faculty, and clerkship evaluation for the Unit. Collaborates with other leadership at the OSU College of Medicine and within the Part 2 Lead.Serve.Inspire Curriculum to fulfill institutional and curricular goals and objectives, and helps to ensure compliance of our educational program with accreditation standards.

Tasked with organization and advocacy for the department in relation to the CESAC, which has led to him organizing and designing the surgical skills sessions in their relation to our current two-year education model.

Ginny Bumgardner, MD, PhD
Associate Dean for Physician Scientist Education and Training
Oversees the department’s resident trainee Research Training Program, which integrates professional development and mentored research training alongside clinical training. Dr. Bumgardner directs the degree-granting COM Master of Medical Science program and is the program director/principal investigator of the NIH-funded training grant T32AI106704 titled Advanced Research Training in Immunology for Surgical Trainees (ARTIST).
