Ken Oestreich, PhD
Program Director
Dr. Oestreich is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He earned his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Vanderbilt University and carried out his postdoctoral research at Emory University in Atlanta and the University of Washington. Dr. Oestreich’s current research interests include the investigation of regulatory mechanisms that govern T cell differentiation and function during immune responses to infection and cancer.
Amy Kennedy
Program Coordinator
Amy Kennedy has been with the College of Medicine since 2015. In 2019, she joined the Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity (MI&I) as an administrative associate. Her responsibilities include serving as the Education Program Manager for MI&I, overseeing administrative aspects of both the Master of Science in Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis and the Immunology and Immunotherapeutics Ph.D. Graduate Program (I2GP). Amy is also in charge of scheduling and maintaining all MI&I courses and provides support to the Graduate Studies Committee. Additionally, she holds the position of Assistant to the Department Chair.
Amy’s commitment extends beyond administrative duties. She actively contributes as a co-chair for the department’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and is an engaged member of the Networking, Health, and Wellness Committee. Amy is a Buckeye Wellness Innovator and holds certification as a Mental Health First Aid Responder. In 2022, Amy was honored with the Distinguished Staff Award.
