The Advanced Thoracic Imaging Fellowship is a specialized, academically focused program designed to cultivate expertise in all aspects of thoracic radiology, including cardiac imaging. This fellowship offers a rich and diverse clinical experience, preparing trainees for leadership roles in academic, private practice, research, and even multidisciplinary collaboration.
This is a one-year, non-accredited fellowship intended for graduates of a Thoracic Imaging fellowship who seek to further advance their training in more complex thoracic imaging techniques. This program is designed to deepen clinical and academic proficiency in advanced thoracic radiology.
Program overview
- Deliver a comprehensive clinical experience that encompasses the full spectrum of thoracic imaging, including high-resolution CT, oncologic imaging, and cardiac CT/MRI
- Prepare fellows for academic and private practice careers through advanced training, teaching opportunities, and research leadership
During the year of training, the fellow will increase his/her/their skills in pulmonary and cardiac imaging, particularly in the interpretation of thoracic CT scans (including standard, high-resolution, and CT angiography, gated and non-gated), thoracic MRI and chest radiography.
Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) consultation
Fellows will provide expert-level consultation in ILD cases, applying ATS/ERS categorization criteria to support accurate diagnosis and management.Oncologic imaging interpretation
Fellows will deliver detailed yet concise interpretations of thoracic oncology studies, incorporating RECIST or other relevant response criteria aligned with clinical trial protocols and previously identified target lesions.Quality assurance and accreditation

- Annual thoracic imaging protocol reviews
- Image quality assessments for ACR accreditation
Multidisciplinary conference leadership
Fellows will lead the imaging discussions in regularly scheduled multidisciplinary conferences, including:
- Thoracic Tumor Board
- Pulmonary Nodule Board
- Interstitial Lung Disease Conference
Educational contributions
Fellows will:
